Foundation for Orphans and Vulnerable Communities Uganda (FOVC Uganda) Organization Overview Foundation for Orphans and Vulnerable Communities Uganda (FOVC Uganda) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO Registration No.204 based in Gulu City, Northern Uganda. Established on 14th July 2015, FOVC Uganda works to restore hope and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable communities through sustainable development initiatives, education support, skills development, health promotion, climate action, and economic empowerment programs. Vision Restoring lost hope in the lives of vulnerable communities. Mission Empower, Support and Care. Areas of Operation FOVC Uganda operates across Northern Uganda, with a primary focus on the Acholi Sub-region, including Gulu City, Gulu District, Amuru, Nwoya, Omoro, Kitgum, Lamwo, Pader, and Agago districts. Clean Cooking Technologies Awareness and Training FOVC Uganda is actively promoting access to clean, affordable, and sustainable cooking technologies as a way of improving public health, protecting the environment, reducing deforestation, and creating economic opportunities for women and youth. Our clean cooking interventions include: Community Clean Cooking Awareness Campaigns Community sensitization and outreach programs. Household demonstrations on clean cooking technologies. Awareness campaigns on the health and environmental benefits of clean cooking. Promotion of energy-efficient cooking practices. Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC) Training Practical training on Electric Pressure Cooker use and maintenance. Live cooking demonstrations in communities, schools, workplaces, and institutions. Consumer awareness on electricity cost savings and cooking efficiency. Support for adoption of electric cooking technologies. School Clean Cooking Program Establishment of Clean Cooking Clubs in schools. Student and teacher training on modern cooking technologies. School demonstrations using Electric Pressure Cookers. Promotion of environmental conservation among learners. Workplace and Institutional Clean Cooking Training for offices, institutions, and workplaces. Demonstrations on transitioning from charcoal and firewood to electric cooking. Institutional cooking assessments and awareness sessions. Community Clean Cooking Hubs FOVC Uganda is establishing Clean Cooking Hubs in Northern Uganda to serve as centers for: Training and capacity building. Technology demonstrations. Clean cooking entrepreneurship development. Product exhibitions and awareness campaigns. Repair and maintenance support. Women and Youth Empowerment Through Clean Cooking Green entrepreneurship training. Clean cooking business development support. Skills development for women and youth. Promotion of clean cooking enterprises and employment opportunities. Other Services Provided by FOVC Uganda Education Support Support for vulnerable children and orphans. School sponsorship and educational assistance. School retention and mentorship programs. Skills Development and Vocational Training Tailoring and garment making. Hairdressing and beauty therapy. Computer training and digital literacy. Driving and mechanics. Entrepreneurship development. Women and Girls Empowerment Support for adolescent mothers. Financial literacy and business skills training. Gender equality and leadership development. Health and Community Development Public health awareness campaigns. Disease prevention and health promotion activities. Community resilience and emergency response initiatives. Climate Change and Environmental Protection Clean energy promotion. Climate change awareness. Environmental conservation and tree planting initiatives. Sustainable livelihood programs. Youth Livelihood and Economic Empowerment Business startup support. Youth enterprise development. Employment and self-reliance initiatives. Impact Since its establishment, FOVC Uganda has: Supported over 1,000 vulnerable children. Trained more than 2,000 adolescent mothers and youth in vocational skills. Assisted over 500 vulnerable elderly persons. Reached thousands of community members through awareness and development programs. Primary Activities

Foundation for Orphans and Vulnerable Communities Uganda (FOVC Uganda) works to empower vulnerable communities through education support, skills development, women and youth empowerment, health promotion, climate action, and sustainable livelihood programs. Our primary activities include clean cooking technologies awareness and training, promotion of Electric Pressure Cookers (EPCs) and other clean energy solutions, vocational skills training, support for adolescent mothers and vulnerable youth, community health education, environmental conservation, entrepreneurship development, and support for orphans, vulnerable children, and elderly persons. We conduct community outreach, school programs, workplace training, and establish Clean Cooking Hubs to improve health, reduce environmental degradation, create green jobs, and enhance economic opportunities across Northern Uganda.
